In NCP5005 example, it is a compact high-efficiency backlight LED Boost Driver , provides up to 22 V voltage for LCD backlight control , keyboard backlight applications such as 2-5 Serial white LED power supply. Its energy efficiency up to 90% off current 1 μA, operating input voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V. It is built short circuit and overvoltage and undervoltage cut-off function . Can automatically match its current LCD, all pins are ESD protection , low EMI radiation.

And in the inductor buck topology solutions , ON Semiconductor provides output current up to 1 A NCP1529 white LED driver , used flashlight / flash applications.
